Several schools in Brussels and Walloon Brabant in the Wallonia-Brussels Education network will remain closed on Monday morning following a bomb threat that fell on Sunday evening, the organizing authorities announced on Monday.
The police are touring all the establishments concerned and an assessment will be made during the day, specifies Cécile Marquette, deputy general director in charge of communication at Wallonie-Bruxelles Enseignement. WBE adds that the measure was decided “in strict compliance with the precautionary principle“. “We must not give in to panic“, says Ms. Marquette.
“Many establishments have been affected by similar alerts in recent weeks.“Schools are expected to remain closed all day Monday, but there is a good chance they will reopen on Tuesday. The network’s website (www.wbe.be) will be regularly updated on Monday.
