Flight SN357 had recently passed Paris when the Captain decided to return to Brussels Airport. “‘The control system indicated vibrations at the level of one of the engines. As a precaution and in accordance with the procedure, it was therefore decided to put this engine in neutral position, with a limited capacity”, explains Brussels Airlines.
The aircraft landed safely at 1:00 p.m. in Zaventem. The firefighters were mobilized, but they did not have to intervene.
According to the company, the problem was with the measuring instrument. “If such vibrations had occurred at the engine, they should have been felt throughout the aircraft.”
Technical and security investigations will have to confirm this hypothesis. The plane might still leave on Monday for the DRC. The passengers have meanwhile been taken care of by the company.
