Two Brussels Airlines flights were planned between Brussels and Tel Aviv this Saturday: at 9:45 a.m. and 9:10 p.m. The company decided to cancel them for safety reasons, following the launch of a Hamas offensive at dawn. “We are now looking at whether it is possible, with other companies in the Lufthansa group, to organize a flight to repatriate travelers to Europe,” specifies the spokesperson. The plane would leave empty to Israel. The company cannot yet communicate on flights over the next few days.
TUI Belgium
Tour operator TUI Belgium will not send travelers to Tel Aviv until October 21. Tel Aviv is the only destination it serves in Israel. Currently, the organizer does not have any Belgian tourists there. “We are monitoring the situation closely,” says its spokesperson, Sarah Saucin.
The decision to cancel its flights was taken on Saturday morning during a crisis meeting organized by the Belgian and Dutch branches of TUI following a surprise Hamas attack on Hebrew territory inflamed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
