Brussels Accident: Fire Truck and Federal Police Car Collision

An accident involving a fire truck and a federal police car occurred Friday followingnoon around 4:45 p.m. at the crossroads of boulevard Simon Bolivar and avenue de l’Héliport, in Brussels.

The police car ended up on its roof due to the impact. One of the three passengers inside the vehicle had to be extricated and taken to hospital. His days are not in danger. The other two passengers are unharmed.

The Brussels Capital-Ixelles police zone descended on the spot and closed boulevard Simon Bolivar during these rescue operations. Traffic was able to resume at 5:15 p.m.

An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of the accident. According to the first elements, the two vehicles were traveling in code “three”, with flashing lights and siren, and were going to a different intervention.
