On Saturday July 1, the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister Delegate for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Olivia Grégoire, received representatives of trade, hotels and restaurants, bank branches and insurers, as well as the Medef and the confederation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Objective: to organize the management of compensation and other cash facilities for business premises affected by damage, following several nights of riots throughout France.

In addition, the government is urging banks to show “the greatest understanding of bank deadlines”.

“Declaration deadlines must be extended, but insurers must also adapt the recognition of claims”, noticed Philippe Coy, president of the confederation of tobacconists. “I don’t think there will be enough experts in the short term, each member should be able to photograph the damage in order to be able to repair without waiting for an expert report”he estimated with Agence France-Presse. “It’s hypercritical and there is really very significant damage”underlined Alain Di Crescenzo, president of the chambers of commerce and industry.
