Bruised dog walks to restaurant

A Shar-Pei with bruises wandered outside a restaurant in Tin Shui Wai and sat at the entrance refusing to leave. Fortunately, the kind-hearted restaurant staff called an animal agency, who rescued the dog and took it to the hospital. The dog was diagnosed with heartworm, flake sideworm, and high liver enzymes, likely caused by fighting with other dogs. The dog had a neck strap, and the rescue agency appealed to the owner to contact them. Although the wound is recovering, the dog still needs medication and treatment for heartworm. RCAP volunteers thanked the restaurant staff for their support, and the agency encourages the owner or anyone with information regarding the dog to contact them. The story was reported on the Hong Kong Animal Post website, along with pictures of the dog in recovery.

A bruised Shar-Pei wandered outside a restaurant in Tin Shui Wai a few days ago, and later sat on the carpet at the door of the restaurant and refused to leave. The kind restaurant staff not only provided food for the dog, but also contacted the animal agency to come to the rescue. In the end, the dog was rescued by RCAP and sent to the hospital. It is estimated that the dog was injured by other dogs. It has heartworm and flake sideworm, and the liver enzymes are high. Since the dog has a neck strap, RCAP appeals to the dog owner to contact them.

The dog wandered outside a restaurant in Tin Shui Wai on March 29. The restaurant staff offered food, but the dog refused to eat it and went to sit on the carpet at the entrance of the restaurant. The dog wears a neck strap, but is covered in bruises, very poor.

The staff of the restaurant sought help from several animal organizations. In the end, RCAP volunteers rushed to the scene and rescued the dog and sent it to the hospital. The dog had no microchip and was not neutered.

RCAP stated that the dog’s blood test found heartworm and flake sideworms, high liver enzymes, and the bruises on the dog’s body are likely to be injured when fighting with other dogs. They believe that dogs should have owners, and they don’t know if they are lost or abandoned. The volunteer also thanked the restaurant staff for helping the dog so that the dog might receive treatment.

The dog’s wound is recovering. It needs to be washed morning and evening and given medicine. The heartworm will be treated later. At present, the dog owner has not yet contacted the volunteers. RCAP appeals to the owner or anyone who knows the dog’s background to contact RCAP.
