“Happy Birthday, Anthony!” is the motto on July 4th, when music fans from near and far are invited to the big open air on Linz’s main square. Admission is free.
The Bruckner Orchestra Linz (BOL) will celebrate its namesake with a lavish concert and invites musical birthday guests to span the musical arc of Bruckner from Rossini to the present.
Next to the young Austrian cello virtuoso Kian Soltaniwhich will perform Friedrich Gulda’s legendary concerto for cello and wind orchestra together with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, the Upper Austrian band is also coming public assistance. She will also perform some of her greatest hits together with the orchestra.
The composer, who also comes from Upper Austria, was responsible for the orchestral arrangements Johannes Berauer who adapts the songs from “folkshilfe”. The BOL is underplaying Markus Poschner Orchestral hits that all have something to do with Bruckner. “Wilhelm Tell” is to be expected, as are melodies from “Star Wars”.
