The press release from the family (source 1) of the American actor, famous for his many action films, was published on the website of theAssociation For Frontotemporale Degeneration. She explains that aphasia from which the actor suffered turned into form of dementia, incurable Today. This dementia is due to a frontotemporal neurodegenerationwhich is the form of dementia the most common. The origins of this form of dementia are not not yet known. It might come from a genetic abnormality, environmental factors or related to head trauma (source 2).
This form of brain degeneration affects people from under 60 and lead the disappearanceand this in an irreversible way, neurones of the fronto-temporal zone of the brain. This area partially controls the speech, abstract thought or some movements.
