In the Tyrolean municipality of Breitenbach am Inn (district Kufstein) is one bear sighting been reported. A rider became aware of a brown bear in the area of a forest path last Thursday, she reported Tiroler Tageszeitung on Sunday with reference to Breitenbach’s Deputy Mayor Adi Moser. The bear got up, hissed and then pursued the fleeing rider, Moser described the encounter.

According to Moser, no farm animals have been harmed by a predator so far. It was the first sighting of a bear in the Breitenbach area. Bear tracks were detected in the Kufstein district in April, according to the daily newspaper, the animal sighted could be this brown bear.
The sighting of the brown bear was also announced on the Breitenbach community website. “I didn’t want to spread panic, but warn people. You should definitely be careful,” Moser said.
