Brooke Shields shed tears while being interviewed for her documentary series Pretty Baby. The Brooke Shields docuseries will premiere in the United States in April 2023.
In the footage of the documentary series, Brooke Shields admits that she is trying to understand why her mother Toni Shields used to let her appear naked in films and photo shoots. Shields was naked at the age of 11 when she starred in the film Pretty Baby.
In the film, which was released in 1978, Brooke collided with actor Keith Carradine, who was then 27 years old. She played a child prostitute and had to do a naked and kissing scene with Keith, who is 16 years older than her.
Brooke at that time had shown a disgusted face. He was reprimanded by the director for his disgusted expression. And at that time, Brooke recalls, her mother, who was present when she shot the adult scenes, did not defend her at all.
“For me…it was really hard. To not justify my mother to them. But when they asked me, I thought, ‘Oh my God, I have to confess this’,” recalled the 57-year-old actress.
“I might have been ‘oh that was’ or ‘oh that was art.’ But I don’t know why he thinks it’s okay. I don’t know,” Brooke added.
Brooke still doesn’t understand why her mother allowed her to star in a film that made her appear naked at the age of 11. Even his mother also let him do a photo shoot without clothes at the age of 10 years.
To make matters worse, when she was 16 years old, a photographer who was a family friend, tried to sell her naked photos taken when she was 10 years old. At that time his mother sued the photographer. But in the end the photographer won in court.
