BRONNY James admitted that he understands that many people think that he was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the last NBA draft because of the role of his father, LeBron James. Therefore, he emphasized that he is ready to prove himself to silence those who doubt him.
The 19-year-old basketball player was the 55th pick in the NBA draft held in New York, Friday (28/6) WIB, after long speculation about where he would play in the NBA.
Never before has a father and son played on the same team in the NBA.
“There’s definitely a lot of pressure on me,” James said ahead of his first practice with the Lakers on Wednesday (3/7) WIB.
“I’ve seen it on social media and the internet saying I don’t deserve this opportunity.”
“However, I have faced this problem all my life. I am confident that I can overcome this,” he continued.

James finished his freshman year with the University of Southern California Trojans, averaging 4.8 points and 2.1 assists per game.
He had to stop early due to cardiac arrest.
However, Lakers head coach JJ Redick is optimistic that James has the potential to become a good NBA player.
“His fundamental ability, his athleticism, his ability to attack, defend, shoot and pass, he has a lot to offer,” Redick said.
