Broadcom bids $61 billion for VMware

Broadcom’s takeovertryStill haven’t stopped.Earlier they announced that they would bid $61 billion(Includes cash and stock) The acquisition of VMware, a developer of cloud and virtualization technologies, if the transaction is completed, Broadcom’s software division will be merged into VMware. The combination of the two can theoretically help customers in “any” cloud services. Run the application in a class environment. It is worth mentioning that the conditions of the acquisition also include Broadcom taking over $8 billion in debt from VMware. The deal should formally close within Broadcom’s 2023 fiscal year, assuming little regulatory pushback.

But the agreement includes a “sell” clause that allows VMware until July 5 to consider whether to accept the deal or even solicit acquisitions from other companies. Once the dust settles, this will be one of the largest acquisitions in tech history.It was preceded by Dell’s 2015 EMC(VMware’s former owner) $67 billion deal, as well as the yet-to-be-closed Microsoft dealActivision Blizzard A $68.7 billion acquisition.
