THE FRIENDLY discussion of the Revision of Law (RUU) Number 32 of 2002 concerning Broadcasting is increasing. There are many questions about how monitoring will be in digital spaces such as platforms over the top (OTT) and streaming audio or some kind of podcast. This emerged because of the emergence of provisions in Article 56 paragraph (2) of the Broadcasting Bill which contains prohibitions on various types of broadcast content, both conventional and digital. The prohibition includes shows related to drugs, gambling, cigarettes, alcohol, violence and mystical elements.

Supervisory authority will be in the hands of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) in accordance with the expansion of the definition of broadcast contained in the draft Broadcasting Bill, broadcast content is digital broadcast material produced by broadcast digital platform operators and/or other broadcast technology platform operators. This definition will refer to content that currently exists on digital platforms such as OTT and streaming audio.
