No sooner were they married than the man murdered his new wife! We are talking regarding Thomas N.* (45) and Dawn W.* (†52) from Great Britain.
The man had put the woman’s body in a suitcase and later tried to mislead the police.
Dawn W.’s body was found in a field behind her house four days following the wedding on October 27, 2021, writes “Dailymail”.
Corpse kept in closet first
At the court hearing on Wednesday, it emerged that N. initially kept his wife’s dead body in a cupboard before packing it in the suitcase and then dumping it in a bush behind their home in West Yorkshire, England.
According to the public prosecutor, N. had alerted the police on October 31 because, as he said, his wife had disappeared.
Footage from a video surveillance camera later shows N. rolling a large suitcase out of the house into a nearby bush just as a police officer arrives at his front door to investigate the missing persons report.
wife wanted a divorce
The perpetrator later told the police that he and his wife had been traveling in a caravan on a two-day honeymoon. When they got home, his wife “developed bipolar disorder and became depressed.” She told him she wanted a divorce. “She said she put me in jail before and I tried to rape and attack her,” said the 45-year-old.
At the trial he admitted to having killed the woman. However, he “did not intend to cause her any serious harm at the time he killed her,” he said. He attacked W. because she threatened to falsely accuse him of rape. He then punched her in the face and put his arm around her neck.
The injuries were so severe that the woman died. The autopsy report revealed that the 52-year-old died from serious injuries to her neck. These indicate that “forceful pressure was exerted on her neck,” prosecutors said.
Thomas N. was in prison before for violence
Violence has played a major role in the couple’s relationship in the past. In 2020, the woman was seen with a “massive” black eye and cuts on her face. According to a neighbor, the man then had to go to jail. However, following his release, the two got back together.
Another neighbor told investigators that he went to the couple’s home two months before the wedding following “never heard a woman scream like that before.” But N. told the neighbors that W. had suffered an asthma attack. However, she herself would have screamed: “Don’t believe him, he’s lying, he wants to kill me.”
Two months later, this was to become a sad reality. According to prosecutors, the man left following the fact to play the “horrible charade” with the honeymoon before returning and alerting the police.
The jury who found Thomas N. guilty of murder saw it similarly. The sentence will be pronounced on August 19th. He faces life imprisonment. (man)
