Princess Diana was not interested in Tom Cruise because she found him too small.
The late princess, who died in a road accident in 1997 at the age of 37, took her two sons Harry and William on the set of the film ‘Mission Impossible’ in 1996 and although they were able to meet the actor, Diana was not at all interested in the star because her height (1m72) was far from impressing her.
Former royal chef Darren McGrady, who worked at Buckingham Palace for 11 years, tweeted: “I remember the day Princess Diana took the boys on the set of Mission Impossible to meet Tom Cruise. Will and Harry loved it the special effects. But Princess Diane… she said to me, “I’m taking another one off my list Darren, he’s too small!”
Darren made the revelation shortly following it was revealed that Tom had given Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton a private preview of the new ‘Mission Impossible’.
Other members of the royal family and close friends of the couple were also able to take part in this unique screening for which a cinema in Leicester Square, London, was closed to the public.
