Britney Spears once once more asked her fans and the public to respect her privacy, following the police were called to her home following the deactivation of the singer’s Instagram account.
“I love and adore my fans, but this time things went too far and my privacy was invaded,” Spears wrote in a statement posted on Twitter.
According to TMZ, Spears posted an Instagram video of herself dancing and saying, “I changed my name to River Red.” The singer then deleted her account, prompting concerned fans to call the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Spears explained: “The police never entered my house and when they got to my door they quickly realized there was no problem and left immediately.”
Britney’s statement continued: “I felt like I was being tricked and harassed once the incident hit the news and I was once once more portrayed poorly and unfairly by the media. During this time in my life, I sincerely hope that the public and my fans, for whom I care so much, can respect my privacy in the future. All love, B.
For more than 13 years, Spears was under an involuntary conservatorship led by her father, which ended in late 2021 following a lengthy legal battle. In a 22-minute audio message posted to YouTube in August 2022, Spears provided an in-depth look at her version of her story, making explosive claims once morest her family.
“It was pure abuse,” he said of the guardianship. “And I haven’t even shared half of it.” Speaking of her father, Spears said: “She loved to control everything he did.”
