British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stand side by side.

Prime Minister Johnson visited Kiiu, the Ukrainian capital, without prior notice.

<보리스 존슨 / 영국 총리> “I think the Ukrainians showed the courage of the lion. President Zelensky gave the lion’s roar.”

<볼로디미르 젤렌스키 / 우크라이나 대통령> “We need to put more pressure on Russia by helping Ukraine defend itself. We need to put pressure on it in the form of sanctions.”

Shortly following the summit, Britain promised Ukraine additional assistance with 120 armored vehicles and new anti-ship missiles.

100 million pounds, or regarding 160 billion won.

Prior to this, Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Chairman of the European Union and the European Commission, the executive branch of the European Union, also visited Kiiu.

President von der Leyen met with President Zelensky and said he would speed up Ukraine’s application for EU membership.

<우르줄라 폰데어라이엔 / EU 집행위원장> “President Zelensky. In this envelope there is an important step towards EU accession. The questionnaire here is the basis for discussion in the coming weeks.”

It would take years to submit a questionnaire with thousands of questions, but it will be processed in a few weeks.

In the case of Poland, it took 10 years to actually join.

The EU delegation, which had evacuated to Poland shortly following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, also decided to return to Kiiu.
