British police are preparing for more far-right demonstrations this weekend

Riots broke out in several UK cities this week after three girls were killed in a knife attack in Southport on Monday.

According to the police, right-wing extremists are behind the riots.

In total, over 100 protesters were arrested and dozens of police officers injured.

A number of new protests are planned in the coming days. Online, people are encouraged to bring English flags, and the slogan “enough is enough” is repeated.

Merseyside Police, who cover Southport, have stated that they are aware of several possible demonstrations and that they are ready with a number of police resources.

Rotherham in Yorkshire, Cardiff in Wales and Belfast in Northern Ireland are also among the cities where police are expecting demonstrations.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has accused “thugs” of exploiting a nation in mourning to sow hatred.

Seven people arrested

A 17-year-old boy has been charged over the knife murders in Southport, which happened during a children’s dance and yoga class on July 29. Misinformation and rumors about the perpetrator contributed to the riots. Among other things, there were rumors that he was Muslim.
