British Foreign Secretary David Cameron’s Five-Point Plan for Ceasefire in Israel and Palestine

The report stated that British Foreign Secretary David Cameron discussed this initiative with Israeli and Palestinian leaders during his tour in the region this week.

Cameron called for an “immediate cessation of hostilities.”

A British official said, “Ceasing the fighting will ultimately lead to the release of the hostages in Gaza and then negotiate a permanent ceasefire. We must work hard to turn it into a permanent ceasefire and really focus on the realistic and achievable things that can make a ceasefire happen.” Always and sustainably.”

The official continued: “I think there is a growing consensus in the international community that the hostage deal and a temporary cessation of fighting are the keys to the chance of a permanent ceasefire.”

The Times reported that the “five-point plan” proposed by the United Kingdom proposes creating a “political horizon” to establish a Palestinian state and form a Palestinian government to govern the West Bank and Gaza Strip after the war.

However, the plan indicates that Hamas will be required to release the hostages and stop attacks against Israel for the plan to succeed, and this includes expelling Hamas leaders from the Gaza Strip, most notably Yahya Sinwar.

The newspaper indicated that the United Kingdom has already shared the plan with the Arab, American and European governments.

On Sunday, the New York Times said that negotiators led by the United States were close to reaching an agreement under which Israel would suspend its war in Gaza for approximately two months in exchange for the release of more than 100 hostages still held by Hamas, an agreement that could be reached within the next two weeks.

Negotiators developed a written draft agreement that integrates the proposals presented by Israel and Hamas in the past ten days into a basic framework that will be the subject of talks at the Paris meeting.
