Stephen Allison, the senior British diplomat stationed in China, jumped into the river to save the drowning girl.
In Chongqing, southwest China, a Chinese student suddenly fell into the river and started thrashing to save herself. The British diplomat there decided to save the girl’s life and jumped into the river.
According to the report, Stephen first took off his shoes to save the victim to maintain balance in the water, later he grabbed the student and pulled her out of the water while bystanders pulled her out with the help of a rope. He provided them with an air tube which they took and came to the river bank.
China and Great Britain praised the diplomat for this excellent example of humanitarianism. “We are proud of Stephen Allison,” said a statement issued by the British Embassy in China.
The video of this incident is viral on social media where users are also praising the diplomat.
