The new King of England, Charles III, has promised to devote his life to his mother’s will.
In his first public address to the public on TV on the 9th local time, Charles III promised to “repeat to you today the promise of Queen Elizabeth II of lifelong devotion” and “I will dedicate myself to the British people with loyalty, respect and love.”
Regarding Queen Elizabeth II, he said, “It was a good life, I kept my promise to my destiny, and I am deeply grieved.”
“The eldest son, William, is now Crown Prince, Duke of Cornwall and Prince of Wales,” he said.
Charles III called Prince William’s wife Catherine ‘Lady of Wales’.
He added that his wife, Queen Camilla, would also be committed to the new role.
He also expressed his affection for his second son, Prince Harry and his wife, who have left the royal family and are in conflict.
Charles III stayed by the Queen’s side at Balmoral Castle in Scotland the day before, and then moved to London with Queen Camilla this morning.
He began his duties as King, with his first meeting with Prime Minister Leeds Truss.
The official declaration as King is made on the 10th.
