Britain said on Saturday that Ukraine was continuing its offensive operations in the northeast of the country, as Russian forces built a defensive line between the Oskil River and the town of Svatov.
“It is likely that Russia will see that maintaining control of this area is important as it passes through one of the few major resupply routes that Russia still controls from the Belgorod region of Russia,” the British Ministry of Defense said in a regular update on Twitter.
Britain said on Twitter that “Russia will likely attempt to conduct a stubborn defense of this region, but it is unclear whether Russian front-line forces have sufficient reserves or sufficient morale to withstand another coordinated Ukrainian attack.”
