Britain: The persons who belong to the human remains found in Bristol have been identified – The Police are talking about a “hate crime” 2024-07-16 20:20:40

The victims are two men, 71-year-old Paul Longworth and 62-year-old Albert Alphonso – who was originally from France but had obtained British citizenship -, London police said.

“Albert and Paul were previously a couple and still live together in a flat” in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, the same source explained.

The case was initially classified as a “hate crime”, but the initial evidence of the investigation “does not suggest that there was a homophobic motive”, said Andy Valdein, a police official.

The two men knew and hosted the perpetrator of the murder, 24-year-old Colombian Justin Andres Mosquera, who was charged with double murder. He is due to appear before a judge later today.

On the night of Wednesday into Thursday police found two suitcases containing human remains on Bristol’s famous Clifton Bridge.

Police received a call regarding “a man with a suitcase acting suspiciously on the Clifton Suspension Bridge”. That man, the suspect who has now been arrested, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Police also found other human remains at the victims’ home in west London.
