Britain replaces the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the portrait of King Charles III on the pound

On Thursday, the Bank of England issued a statement expressing its intention to replace the image of the late Queen Elizabeth II with the image of King Charles on a number of banknotes.

The statement stated that this procedure will begin following the mourning for the late queen, which will last 10 days, ends.

The statement explained that the denominations bearing the image of the Queen will remain in force, and that the change will affect all denominations bearing her image, which are 5, 10, 20 and 50 pounds.
