Britain cancels a contract with P&O, owned by DP World, for this reason!

The UK Home Office has canceled a contract with P&O Ferries with immediate effect in the latest move against the company Owned by Dubai Ports World.

This came after P&O decided to dismiss 800 employees in March, after which the company returned to hiring others at lower wages.

The contract in question was to provide emergency travel services to nearby ports, where British officials work to control the movement of people and goods from Belgium and France to Britain.

Since then Britain’s transport minister has been working to introduce legislation to ensure ferry operators to British ports pay the national minimum wage and an investigation into the P&O incident.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, president of DP World, told the Financial Times last week that it was too late to reverse the decision. Adding that the government cannot do anything because it is in the past.
