Timo Tjahjanto’s latest FILM, The Shadow Strays, will air on Netflix starting October 17. Previously, the film had its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The Shadow Strays tells the story of a young female assassin named 13, who is laid to rest after her mission goes awry. During his break from duty, he forms a bond with Monji, a boy who has just lost his mother to a crime syndicate. When Monji disappears, 13 begins a search to find him, and breaks the rules of his organization, The Shadows, as well as his mentor, Umbra.

The Shadow Strays is promised to offer a series of action scenes choreographed by experts, as well as highlighting the dark side against the backdrop of a harsh and merciless criminal world. In producing The Shadow Strays, it also seems to be an increase in the production value of Timo Tjahjanto’s previous films. The producer of The Shadow Strays, Wicky V. Olindo, explained that he was trying to protect the director’s dream.

“The production value of this film is more like Timo’s dream. Starting from the screenplay, it is very ambitious. When I read it, I thought technically and the production design would be complicated. However, if anyone can execute something that difficult, it’s Timo and his crew. He can execute something heavy. “But technically, it’s flawless,” said The Shadow Strays producer Wicky V. Olindo during an interview session at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Thursday (10/10).

“The concept of production design in the film The Shadow Strays, there are no limits to Timo’s imagination. There are ninja elements, explosives, airplanes. “The point is, Timo can dream, and our job is to make it a reality,” continued Wicky.

The Shadow Strays stars Aurora Ribero, Hana Malasan, Andri Mashadi, Arswendy Bening Swara, Adipati Dolken, Taskya Namya, Kristo Immanuel, and Ali Fikri. (M-3)
