Rail carrier Brightline operates a network of modern intercity trains in the United States. It will also become the first high-speed railroad company in Florida.. But also for the whole of the United States.

On March 6, in fact, during tests, a Brightline train traveled over 209 km/h on a 56 km rail corridor between Orlando International Airport and Cocoa, Florida. The new lanes are built alongside a highway, which is fenced and has no level crossings.

During testing, Brightline trains must be tested at higher than intended speeds. Once commissioned, passenger trains will run at a maximum speed of 201 km/han average of more than 3km/h per minute.

“Reaching 130 is not just another milestone for our team, but the pursuit of a dream we’ve been working on for several years,” said Patrick Goddard, President of Brightline Trains. “Most importantly, this historic achievement brings us closer to the launch of the service Brightline between Orlando and Miami. »

Miami-Orlando in three hours

The Orlando station, which will open this year, will revolutionize train travel in the United States. The station will continue Brightline’s vision of providing an exceptional travel experience for the customer. Through its link between two of the most congested cities in the country, Brightline will fly passengers between Orlando and Miami in regarding three hours. Or one hour less on average than a car trip.

This development is a spectacular leap forward for the United States. The nation will indeed finally enter the circle of countries operating a high-speed network. Which should open before the end of the year
