Bright Eyes cancels 2024 tour dates as Conor Oberst requires… – Zimbalam

Bright Eyes is canceling its 2024 tour dates. The announcement comes after the band recently pulled out of Riot Fest and two other concerts. Bright Eyes said they were canceling shows because Conor Oberst “developed an illness exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and recovery.” The band plans to hit the road again in 2025. See Bright Eyes’ full concert statement below.

Earlier this month, Bright Eyes played warm-up concerts in Chicago, Cleveland and Philadelphia, ahead of the release of their new album, Five dice, all three. They were scheduled to resume their 2024 tour, in Oakland, in October. They were also due to perform at the inaugural Best Friends Forever festival, in Las Vegas, before performing in the UK and Europe.

We regret to announce that we will have to cancel our shows for the rest of the year, including in Los Angeles, Oakland, Las Vegas and Europe. We love our fans and are incredibly disappointed that we won’t be able to play these shows. All tickets for major shows will be refunded at point of purchase and we will keep everyone informed of rescheduling plans.

Over the past week, Conor has undergone several tests to determine the cause of his recent vocal problems. It appeared that he developed an illness exacerbated by excessive singing, requiring both treatment and cure. We are confident that with an effective diet and continued medical care, we will be able to get back on the road next year.

Much love and thank you for your understanding.
Bright eyes
