Shock in Betanzos following learning of the death of the businessman Alfredo Diez Seoanehis wife and their three-year-old child, in a plane crash in Virginiaon the east coast of USA.
With them, on the same aircraft, were two other adults, who also lost their lives, according to information from CBS News pointing to a statement from the Virginia Police. The event, whose causes are still being investigated, occurred in a rural area near Hot Springs when he was trying to make an emergency landing, CBS News also reports.
Díez, regarding 40 years old, lived in Miami for almost a decade and belonged to a well-known Brigantine family linked to teaching, since both his grandmother – who died a month ago – and his great-uncles and his mother taught in various centers in the Betanzos region.
In Florida he opened a pilot training academy, Atlantis Aviation.
Condolences and expressions of dismay continued from the moment the news broke and it was learned that both his mother and his sister, as soon as they learned of the tragedy, traveled to the United States. In Betanzos, his numerous friends “are devastated,” unable to contain their tears and waiting for information regarding what happened.
Through social networks, the city’s mayor, Maria Barral, expressed his dismay “following experiencing the new passing of a Betanceiro, his daughter and child in a plane accident in Virxinia” and expressed his “condolences to the family and loved ones in the name of all Betanzos.” The PP spokesperson, Cecilia Vázquez, also sent “a big hug and my deepest condolences” to his mother and her sister, highlighting the “fatality, misfortune and injustice.”
