Russian forces are trying to organize attacks and attacks every day, Anton Kotsukon, the press representative of the 110th separate mechanized brigade named after Lieutenant General Marko Bezruchko, described the situation on the air of the national telebridge, noting that the Russians are currently regrouping “after receiving a big blow in the teeth”.
“They are mobilizing their reserves – they brought here about 40,000 soldiers, stockpiles ammunition of various calibers. And so far there are no signs that the Russians have abandoned their plans to encircle Avdijivka…”, he emphasized.
According to A. Kotsukon, the Russians try to act in a complex manner and try to attack from several directions at the same time. Recently, they use a scheme where they send small groups of 10-20 people to attack. Ukrainian soldiers find them and destroy them with artillery.
“Why are they doing this?” At the time this attack group leaves, they raise a number of their drones… And at the time when our artillery destroys this infantry group, they try to detect our artillery,” explained the spokesman of the brigade.
He called such actions by the Russians a “game of chicken” where the occupiers leave their people and try to identify Ukrainian artillery positions.
In addition, A. Kotsukon added that Avdijivka itself is currently half surrounded by the enemy from three sides.
“The city looks terrible now, it’s completely destroyed… But even in these circumstances, 1,500 people still live in it,” he said.
