Bridging East and West: Pakistan’s Caretaker Premier Forges New Bonds with China

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has left for China, where he will participate in the ‘Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation’ to be held in Beijing from October 17 to 18.

The event is being held in Beijing to mark the 10th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s global infrastructure and energy initiatives to promote global trade through the Silk Road.

The caretaker prime minister wrote on social media website X that he is leaving to attend the third Belt and Road Forum in Beijing at the official invitation of the Chinese president.

He said that he was looking forward to strengthening relations, exchange, establishing new partnerships and promoting regional connectivity for a bright future.

The Prime Minister’s Office shared the video of Anwarul Haq Kakar’s departure from Islamabad and wrote that the caretaker prime minister represented Pakistan at the event and reiterated the development achievements achieved under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the last 10 years. We will assure Pakistan’s full cooperation in future goals and this project.

The Prime Minister’s Office said that apart from attending the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister will address a high-level forum on ‘Connectivity in the Global Economy’ on October 18.

Earlier, it was reported that Pakistan and China will sign important agreements regarding motorways and highways during the 4-day visit of caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar to China starting from October 16.

Caretaker Home Minister Sarfarar Bugti is also visiting China along with Anwarul Haq Kakar.
