A shooting that killed two shook a college in the US state of Virginia. Two campus police officers have died at Bridgewater College. The background is still open.
Two campus police officers have died following being shot at a Virginia college. A suspect was arrested following the incident on Tuesday (local time), the university and the police said.
The crime happened at noon on the Bridgewater College campus. The alleged shooter initially fled and was then caught a short time later. The background of the fact was still open.
“Unspeakable Tragedy”
«Today our campus community experienced an unspeakable tragedy. Two members of the Bridgewater College family were senselessly and violently taken from us,” College President David W. Bushman said on the college’s website. The two police officers were friends. “I know we all have so many questions and not many answers,” Bushman said. Fatal incidents continue to occur in the United States because shooters open fire at schools or colleges.
Meanwhile, another case of gun violence shook people in the state of Minnesota. Two students were shot there in front of their school – one of them died. Suspects fled the scene, police said. Here, too, the background of the fact was still open. Also on Tuesday, a former UCLA lecturer was arrested. He is said to have previously threatened the university with violence.
