(Windsor) Traffic remained blocked Wednesday morning heading toward Canada on the Ambassador Bridge between Windsor, southern Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan.

On Monday, a protest once morest the health measures had blocked travel in both directions, but on Tuesday, traffic to Detroit was able to resume. Everything indicates that the protest was still continuing on Wednesday on the Canadian side of the border crossing located on the bridge.
Windsor Police said Tuesday that officers were on hand to maintain traffic points and public safety, and enforce the law. In Michigan, the Department of Transportation asked those wishing to travel to Canada to use the Port Huron border crossing, which connects this American city with Sarnia, Ontario.
On Tuesday, the president of the Detroit International Bridge Company, which owns the Ambassador Bridge, called on officials to take swift action to resolve the situation.
The Ambassador Bridge, which spans the Detroit River, is one of the busiest Canada-U.S. border links.
