Asunción, IP Agency.- The director of the EBY and former governor of Ñeembucú, Luis Benítez, pointed out that the project for an international bridge with Argentina “is very well underway” and he hopes it will become a reality in the current government period.
«The Government is working (on the bridge) through the CAF. With Peña’s visit to the Argentine president they touched on that issue once more,” Benítez said during a television interview for the La Mega channel.
The bridge between Pilar and Puerto Cano will give the department a lift, he highlighted.
The project has a non-reimbursable technical cooperation of US$ 1.5 million for the preparation of the preliminary project, currently being executed.
The future head of the bridge would be located one kilometer from the city of Pilar, reported the current director of the Yacyretá Binational Entity (EBY).
CAF cooperation also contemplates the development of an electromobility project in the capital of Ñeembucú and will join the coastal defense works, currently underway, and a future industrial park for the development of the south of the country.
