MILWAUKEE – Brewers shortstop Willy Adames is resting at home following being released from the hospital Saturday morning, where he spent the night following receiving a foul ball to the head in his team’s loss on Friday.
The team placed Adames on the seven-day concussion list and promoted Andruw Monasterio, who has spent parts of nine years in the minors.
“All the news is good,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said following speaking with the shortstop on the phone. “He is in good spirits. Everything went well medically. But it’s only today, it only takes a day of recovery.
Rookie Brice Turang will defend shortstop for the Brewers in Adames’ absence.
