Brest: French readings by Virginia Woolf at the Victor-Segalen faculty

A symposium entitled Virginia Woolf, French readings will be held on March 17 and 18 at the Victor-Segalen faculty in Brest. About twenty speakers will deal with “French readings of Virginia Woolf in every sense of the term”, that is to say both the interpretation of the work of this British writer by French authors (es) only allusions to French literature in his essays. The program also includes a representation of What’s worse than a woman?a creation by the Palimpseste company inspired by A room of one’s own.

The Hours soundtrack interpreted

In conclusion of this scientific event, the pianist Florence Nicol will perform the soundtrackcomposed by Philip Glass, from the movie The Hours by Stephen Daldry where Nicole Kidman plays the role of Virignia Woolf. This will be followed by a reading of the writer’s letters by Marie-Josette Le Han and Anne-Aël Ropars.

Thursday March 17 from 1:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday March 18 from 9 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. at the Victor-Segalen faculty, 20 rue Duquesne in Brest, room C219.

Concert: Friday 6 to 6 p.m. in the forum room. It’s free.
