Antibes boaters have been supporting, in their own way, the fight once morest breast cancer for ten years now. With the SOS breast cancer association, they are participating in the “Rose” Regattas, which will be held on Saturday at Port Vauban.
Forgetting illness and hospital
People suffering from breast or gynecological cancer, as well as their entourage (family and medical), are invited to spend a day at sea aboard a sailboat, made available by its owner.
In addition to raising awareness among the general public, this day allows participants and their loved ones to forget, for a day, the illness and the hospital. The “Pink” Regattas also remind us of the importance of practicing a sporting activity, sailing for example.
Registrations required and still open
Boat owners (and not just Antibes residents!) who wish to take part can register on the website of the Société des régates d’Antibes (sr-antibes.fr).
Participants must also make themselves known, as places are limited. They will find a form to fill out on soscancerdusein.org or can send an email to the association.
Little extra, this year: to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the event with great fanfare, the Harmonie Antiboise will offer a concert, from 6 p.m., at the Vauban port.
