Dr. Maha Wanis, a reproductive health specialist at the United Nations Population Fund, said that the delivery of health messages is surrounded by many thorny issues, such as beliefs and other ideas that are rooted in the sayings of Egyptians.

Wanis added, during a session to discuss the population issue within the societal axis of the National Dialogue, that we are facing a vicious circle with regard to health information and reproductive health messages due to different visions.

She stressed that strengthening companies among the authorities responsible for the population file will help solve the population issue, calling for a single message that leads to achieving the goal that the state seeks.

And she said: It is not right for the state to call for spacing between childbearing periods while the message presented in the media is different and talks regarding the large family and its importance, stressing that this harms the message.

She pointed out that talking regarding reproductive or health information is seen by some as a defect, as it used to happen with us in a biology lesson at the high school level.
