Football clubs around the world broke the record for the cost of buying new players in one transfer window, reports the Internet portal Transfer market.

The setting of a new record was influenced by the actions of Saudi Arabian clubs, which have already managed to spend € 846 million during the current transfer window. They also increased their spending on buying new players from the Premier League team. They spent €2.43 billion, almost €1 billion more than in 2019.
The final bar of the record will not be set on September 2, the day following the deadline in Europe’s top leagues, but on September 20, when the transfer window closes in Saudi Arabia.
