2023-12-01 17:40:45

Friday December 1st, like every year since 1988, is World AIDS Day. An Ifop survey for Sidaction reveals that 30% of 15-24 year olds think it is possible to transmit the AIDS virus during a kiss with an HIV-positive person. One figure among several which shows that prejudices once morest HIV-positive people are still very present. “ Preconceived ideas regarding people living with HIV have never been so present in the minds of 15-24 year olds. The stigma that these prejudices generate is more than worrying », Reacted Florence Thune, the general director of the association.

In 1994, during the first Sidaction, actress Clémentine Célarié kissed, live on television and to applause, a young HIV-positive person to show that this was not how HIV was transmitted. This archive is available at the top of the article.
