[Breaking news]Fernando Alonso transferred to Aston Martin F1 team[F1-Gate.com]

Fernando Alonso has announced that he will join the Aston Martin F1 team in 2023.

Last week, the Aston Martin F1 team announced that Sebastian Vettel will retire from F1 at the end of the 2022 season. There was a lot of speculation regarding his successor.

However, on Monday following the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix, the Aston Martin F1 team announced it had signed Fernando Alonso on a multi-year deal from 2023.

Fernando Alonso, a two-time F1 world champion, will return to F1 for the first time in two years from the Alpine F1 team in 2021. His contract was due at the end of 2022. He celebrates his 41st birthday on Friday 29th July at the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix.

“This Aston Martin team is clearly one of the most exciting teams in Formula 1 today, with a clear energy and commitment to win,” said Alonso.

“I’ve known Lawrence and Lance for many years and it’s clear they have the ambition and passion to succeed in Formula 1. I see the team systematically recruiting winning talent. We have seen it and recognize the tremendous commitment to Silverstone’s new facilities and resources.”

“No one in Formula 1 today shows a greater vision and absolute commitment to winning. This is a really exciting opportunity for me. I still have the thirst and ambition to be at the front. I want to be part of an organization that has, is committed to learning, developing and succeeding.”
