While theUkraine seems to be retreating on the front against the Russian army, the government has announced news, which could give them a marked advantage at sea. This good news is the arrival of the “Sea Baby”. This is a new type of drone, experimental certainly, but with powerful and formidable capabilities.
The Ukrainian army can count on extremely efficient drones to effectively target the Russian navy and reign supreme over the sea… While kyiv has no navy. To date, in the space of two years of war, nearly 20% of the Russian fleet has been completely destroyed. The reason ? The use of drones designed in Ukraine thanks to crowdfunding.
The new Ukrainian military drone, terribly efficient
Last July, the Ukrainian government unveiled for the very first time, its latest USV. The latter, called the Magura V5, is able to carry an explosive charge of 320kg, over a radius of nearly 800 kilometers. Today, the security service of Ukraine (SBU) has just revealed to the world, the brand new arrival of its fleet, the “Sea Baby”.
Today in the testing phase, the “Sea Baby”, to see the light of day, was able to count on 7 million euros in donations (made by companies, international donors as well as the local population). 35 copies of this model were ordered. Much more maneuverable, more efficient and lethal, this type of drone would also be faster (up to 90 km/h) and would have a greater range of action (of the order of 1,000 kilometers).
A powerful and inexpensive drone
A strategy which, to date, is intended to be perfectly effective, because Ukraine has already destroyed 26,000 of the 121,000 tons of weapons in the Black Sea. Another 13,000 tonnes would also have been destroyed. Impressive statistics for drones that cost around 200,000 euros to make, making them one of the most powerful drones, but also the least expensive on the market.
