Thiruvananthapuram: Marunadan Malayali online channel owner Shajan Skaria granted three-year bail in the case of spreading fake news. The Ernakulam Fast Track Sessions Court granted bail in the case registered by Thrikakkara Police.
Thrikakkara police reached Nilambur this morning and arrested Shajan Skaria. The court ordered that he be released on bail following interrogation. The High Court had warned that if he did not appear in Nilambur today, the three-month bail would be cancelled. The questioning was in the case that a video promoting religious rivalry was circulated on social media. After recording the arrest in the case, bail was granted, but unexpectedly, Thrikakkara police arrived at the Nilambur station and arrested Shajan Skaria.
