Step.- Elements of the El Paso Police (EPPD) investigate a suspicious death in a motel on Mesa Street, almost opposite the St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
At 1:34 p.m., officers responded to a welfare check call at 1301 N. Mesa at the Budget Lodge Motel regarding an unresponsive person.
Emergency crews found the unresponsive person to be a Hispanic woman and found her dead.
A few weeks ago, a group of undocumented immigrants was captured by the Border Patrol in that motel.
The EPPD Crimes Against Persons Unit and Forensic Unit are investigating the death.
At this time, it is considered suspicious in nature. No further details or information available.
