A major fire broke out on Saturday followingnoon in the Bois de Beausart, in Bossut-Gottechain, in the entity of Grez-Doiceau, we learned from the Walloon Brabant rescue zone. The minor red plan was triggered and operations were still ongoing as of 5 p.m. Saturday.
Walloon Brabant firefighters were called to intervene in the Bois de Beausart which covers some 1.54 km² on the territory of the municipality of Grez-Doiceau.
Due to the extent of the disaster, the minor red plan was triggered, mobilizing the rescuers from the barracks of Braine-l’Alleud, Jodoigne, Nivelles and Wavre.
The fire whose origin remains to be determined is under control, but some extinguishing operations continued on Saturday around 5:00 p.m.
