The vote was approved by a majority of representatives, with the result being 216 votes to 210, and 8 Republicans voted to dismiss McCarthy.

On Monday, Republican Representative Matt Gaetz submitted a memorandum calling for the dismissal of Kevin McCarthy, in a “rare” step.
