Former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest player Jesse Lingard is close to officially moving to the Saudi club Al-Ettifaq.
Lingard recently joined Al-Ettifaq training under the leadership of English coach Steven Gerrard, and participated in a friendly match against Al-Khalidiya this week and succeeded in scoring, as talks continue regarding a free transfer deal.

Sky Sports said that Gerrard wanted Lingard to join his team from now, but he is unable to take this step due to the rules for registering foreign players in Saudi Arabia.
The rules stipulate that Saudi clubs can only include a maximum of eight foreign players in the team, and at the present time the agreement already has 10 players, which means it is impossible for Lingard to register.
This forces the agreement to wait until the winter transfer period next January for Lingard to register with his team so that he can participate in official matches.
