A human torso was discovered floating between New York and New Jersey, prompting a homicide investigation, authorities in Elizabeth (NJ) reported.
Patrol units responding on the boardwalk on South Front Street just before 5 p.m. Tuesday found the torso of a white man floating in the area where the Elizabeth River and the Arthur Kill tidal strait meet, between Staten Island (NYC) and Union and Middlesex counties (NJ).
The man has not been identified. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elizabeth Police Department at 908-558-2041. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by phone at 908-654-TIPS (8477) or online at www.uctip.org. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered. NBC News.
In a similar case, yesterday in the Harlem River in NYC, Warren Garrett (13), a child who had been missing since Friday, May 12, was found dead. The authorities are still looking for his friend Alpha Barrie (11), as it is believed that they were together.
