Caleb Ewan changes teams. After five seasons spent under the Belgian colors of Lotto Dstny, the 29-year-old Australian sprinter signed up on Wednesday with Jayco AlUla, a team from his country. Ewan was still under contract with Lotto Dstny, but this was terminated by mutual agreement between the two parties. The Australian returns to the GreenEDGE fold. He had raced for this formation from 2014 to 2018 (under the names Orica-Scott then Mitchelton-Scott in particular).

Only one victory this year

“It means a lot to me to come back,” Caleb Ewan said in a statement. I’ve had a lot of success with the team in the past. This is obviously where I started my professional career. […] For me, it will be good to rediscover the Australian culture and the English-speaking environment. Being Australian and riding for an Australian team is very special. There are a lot of riders and management members, who I had worked with before, who are still there. So it will be great to work with them once more. »

On his record, Ewan notably counts stage victories on the three major Tours (five on the Tour de France and the Giro and one on the Vuelta). He also won stages of Tirreno Adriatico, the Tour Down Under, the Tour of Poland and the Tour of Great Britain. In his career, he has 60 victories. This year, however, Caleb Ewan only won one: the Van Merksteijn Fences Classic in May.
