Jefferson went missing regarding four months ago. The disappearance of the actor was officially announced on February 9. The actor’s 9 pet dogs were found abandoned at his Rio de Janeiro home. His mother, Maria Dan Dores, said that he had dropped his phone in the toilet so he mightn’t make a video call, and that he had received text messages with spelling errors claiming to be from Jefferson, which made her suspicious. The last time the two spoke was on January 29. Jefferson said that he was at a friend’s house and was attending a job interview. A few days later, Jefferson’s video cloud password was changed and location was deactivated, adding to the actor’s family’s fear.

The police investigation was conducted efficiently. On May 22, Machado’s body was found buried 6.5 feet under an outhouse in Rio. The actor’s body was tied with rope. The owner said that he had rented the outhouse to someone else and he did not know him. In CCTV footage, the actor was seen entering the outhouse last month. The wooden box in which the actor was confined was taken from his house.
